This web site is an archive and extension of The Doors Examiner, a successful blog researched and written by Jim Cherry between August 29, 2009 and July 1, 2016. We want to restore the original writing and research that Jim did (and does) about the art and history of The Doors. The Doors, of course, remain one of the most admired and scrutinized popular music acts ever, even though the original band last worked together in 1971.
As you may know, Examiner.com was a popular blog aggregator that was purchased by a large media company and unceremoniously closed. When that happened a lot of valuable and otherwise unavailable material was lost, and while we can’t restore all of it, we can restore what Jim wrote about The Doors.
Jim Cherry’s original essays on The Doors Examiner, Redux are copyright Jim Cherry. Hosting, technical support, editing, and the occasional essay are provided by Geoff Stratton. We always like to hear from fellow Doors fans and classic rock enthusiasts, so feel free to drop us a line. In the meantime, have a look around and have fun!
